| | | Andrew and I met online. I had just about called it quits when I received a message from Andrew. I didn't think he was my "type," but his opening paragraph talked about his experience in college volunteering at a dog rescue, so I felt like I needed to at least respond. Andrew and I quickly discovered all of our crazy "small world" connections, like the fact that he teaches where I attended elementary school or that we grew up five minutes away from each other. I even let him pick me up for our first date because I figured we knew enough of the same people, so if I went missing, everyone would know it was him! We had talked nonstop for the week prior to our first date, so I knew that there was something special about Andrew, although I wasn't sure if we were meant to be the best of friends or if he was the love of my life. After our first date (which was so awesome that we even took a selfie!), I suspected we weren't meant to just be friends. By our third date, I knew I was going to marry him. |
| | Some of my darling coworkers thought that the dance floor at the casino would be the perfect place for me to meet the woman of my dreams. Needless to say, I was mortified, and made an online profile that night as soon as I got home. I found Jessica's profile the very next day, and was immediately drawn to her love of family, friends, kids, and puppies. I sent her a perfectly drafted message about dogs that swept her off her feet. I'm pretty slick, what can I say. I digress. We began talking non-stop, and quickly found out that we had many "small world" connections. I teach at East Hanover, where the Johnson kids went to elementary school, and pass her (totally adorable and not at all awkward) 5th grade class picture on my way to lunch every day. From the first date, I was hooked. |
